Full Time Lecturer Position in Physiology
The
Department of Zoology at the University
of Florida is seeking a
full-time lecturer (non-tenure accruing) in animal physiology to begin August
16, 2008, with a one-year contract. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in
biology or related field, teaching or research experience in physiology
(broadly defined), and evidence of effective teaching at the college/university
level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach up to three courses per
semester, including Animal Physiology and sections of an introductory course in
Integrative Biology for life sciences majors. The salary will be up to $41,000
for the nine-month academic year, plus the usual university payments toward
health insurance and retirement. The Department of Zoology fosters
collaborative, interdisciplinary research and teaching, and was recently ranked
as having the highest Faculty Scholarly Productivity in the area of zoology by
the Chronicle of Higher Education. For more information on the department and
