Undergraduate Program :: The Foreign Language Requirement
The Department of Zoology, as part of the College of
Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), does not require a specific number of
hours of foreign language study. However, students must demonstrate
"proficiency" in a foreign language before graduation. This can be
demonstrated in one of the following ways:
- Complete the beginning level sequence of a foreign language (typically two semesters).
- Receive a satisfactory score on the AP Foreign Language exam, IB Foreign Language, CLEP exam, or SAT2 exam.
- Have your fluency evaluated by the
appropriate foreign language department (for languages other than
Spanish, French, German, and Latin).
- Submit a copy of your foreign passport from a non-English speaking country.
Specific details and instructions for all of these are provided on the Academic Advising web site.
